First Time Contractors

As a first time contractor we can advise you of the different routes you can take and the advantages or disadvantages of these.

Briefly you may decide to take one of the following options:

Management Company

This is where you join a company such as AMUK, whilst employed by us you will, send us your timesheets and we will do the rest.

We do invoice raising, and accounts for you. You will be paid on PAYE basis with all tax and national insurance deducted, ensuring you are totally protected from any compliance issues and compliant with IR35.

We will endeavour to help and advice you how get the best retention from your earnings making full use of your expenses. We also have a new an up to date Revenue & Customs approved dispensation. By using AMUK you are also entitled to a benefits package including Professional indemnity and Public liability as well as other automatic and contributory options. As a first time contractor we have varied knowledge within the team from ex contractors, it recruiters and financial accountants that we hope will make your first contract a smooth and effortless exercise.

Limited Company

This is where you set up your own Limited Company and pay yourself a salary, expenses and dividends.

You are solely responsible for running your company, raising invoices, collecting debts and running a bank account as well as your tax and accounts.

With a Ltd company you run the risk outside of IR35 and of being Non Compliant and you could end up being investigated by Revenue & Customs.
